Cuttack: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday issued summon notice to the former secretary of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Ashirbad Behera’s son Subrat Behera and his son-in-law Sandip Samal, former general secretary of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA), in connection with the Barabati stadium land grab case.
The ED asked the duo to depose at the ED office and record their statements on June 21.
Sandip was the partner of M/s INCON Associates, which was roped in for construction of a Kalyan Mandap (banquet hall), Barabati Palace.
According to the CBI which is probing into the case, Ashirbad Behera, who was the general secretary of OOA, had shown undue favour to his son-in-law by illegally leasing out land inside Barabati Stadium for construction of the banquet hall and 23 other shops.
The CBI, which is investigating the case, had earlier raided the residences and offices of Ashirbad Behera, his son and Sandip in this connection.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court, on the basis of the report by the Accountant General, had directed the CBI to probe into the land grab case. The apex court had also asked Ashirbad to stay away from contesting the OOA elections after the CBI found his complicity in the land grab case.
