Cuttack: After 19 years, the Orissa High Court on Monday closed a petition filed by gangrape survivor Anjana Mishra.
In the petition filed in 2002, she had alleged lapses in the CBI investigation. She had also accused former Chief Minister JB Patnaik and former AG indrajit Ray of hatching a conspiracy to slow down the probe.
The court took the decision on the basis of two sets of affidavits filed by the Odisha government and the CBI, stating that everyone, including the prime accused, have been arrested.
The advocates representing the government and the CBI also argued that there was no ground for the petition as the major parties in the case- JB and Ray- were no more.
