Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday suspended Bargarh Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) Srikar Majhi for alleged dereliction of duty.
In its suspension order, the government has said that disciplinary proceedings are being contemplated against the officer.
During the suspension period, Majhi will remain attached to the state headquarters of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department.
“He shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the Commissioner-Cum-Secretary,” the order said.
He will, however, be entitled to payment of subsistence allowance.
According to sources, Majhi had gone on leave without informing his higher-ups even as Bargarh was burning with farmers taking to streets while protesting against the online token system for paddy procurement in the last couple of days.
