Bargarh: Locals on Friday blocked NH-53 near Brahmachari village in Bargarh district demanding early repair of the road, which developed a three-feet deep sinkhole.
One of the protestors under the banner of Bargarh Highway Users’ Forum said, “The contractor should be made liable for the inferior quality materials used for construction of the highway.
The road should immediately be repaired since the sinkhole in the middle of the busy Kolkata-Mumbai national highway can lead to serious accidents, he added.
