Bhubaneswar: A joint team of excise and police officials carried out raids at several bars in Odisha capital and verified their documents as part of a drive to check violation of rules.
According to reports, the team raided at least eight bars in Laxmisagar, Bomikhal and Cuttack Road areas the capital city late on Sunday night and checked their licences and other documents.
At least two bars were issued show-cause notice as these places were found open after midnight, they said.
Many customers were also present inside the bars beyond the specified time and enjoying the dance floor and bar.
As per the rules, bars can run their business till 12 o’clock at the night. However, two bars were found doing their business at 12.15 am in violation of the rules. Show-cause notices were served on the two bars for violation of rules, said an official.
