Mumbai: The makers of ‘Batwara 1947’ unveiled the film’s first look on Tuesday, offering the audience a glimpse into the much-anticipated period drama featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
Set during the Partition of India, the film tells an emotional story inspired by one of the most important and life-changing events in the region’s history.
The makers also confirmed that ‘Batwara 1947’ will hit theatres on August 14.
In the first-look promo, lead actor Sunny appears in a strong and intense role, holding a burning torch. His determined expression hints at a character facing difficult circumstances with courage.
Behind him, Preity, Karan Deol and Khushi Hajare are seen looking worried and frightened, reflecting the tense atmosphere.
The promo also offers a brief glimpse of Shabana Azmi’s character.
The visuals are made even more emotional by AR Rahman’s background score.
“In times of hatred and fear, he chose courage. Watch #Batwara1947 in theatres from 14th August 2026,” the makers wrote.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film is produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions.
