Cuttack: Cricket fans need not despair as Barabati Stadium will now be hosting a India-Sri Lanka T20 match scheduled for December 20.
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has earlier written to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), expressing its inability to hold India-New Zealand T20 match at the stadium on November 4 with Balijatra beginning the same day at an adjacent ground.
Confirming the news, OCA working committee chairman Dhiren Palei said, “The BCCI has allotted India-Sri Lanka T20 considering our request to cancel the earlier match.”
Citing security reasons, the association had requested the BCCI to allot another match either before or after the week-long trade fair.
