Cuttack: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has banned two young cricketers of Odisha for fudging their age.

Confirming the BCCI action, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Sanjay Behera said that the two cricketers, Rajesh Mohanty and Krishna Palai, were banned for two years.

The BCCI found discrepancies in the age certificates submitted by the players for the current season and the documents furnished by them last season.

In October 2016, the BCCI had suspended seven senior women cricketers and 12 Under-19 players of Odisha for one year on similar charges.
