Cuttack: Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) vice president Manjeet Das on Tuesday filed a complaint against Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty, accusing him of spreading false information about him on social media and defaming him.
In his complaint lodged at Purighat police station, Cuttack, he also demanded an apology from the actor-turned-politician.
Das said that Anubhav had been posting false information about him on various social media platforms. “He should be punished under the IT Act for violating the norms of social media and spreading false information about him,” said the 31-year-old leader.
On October 1, Das was booked for allegedly misbehaving with the Kendrapara MP.
Anubhav’s personal security officer (PSO) had lodged a written complaint with the Purighat police on September 30, accusing him of threatening the MP.
Das is Anubhav’s neighbour at Nandi Sahi here.
