BDA to e-auction 22 plots in Jaydev Vihar, Chandrasekharpur on Nov 15

Bhubaneswar: To continue the transparent mode of property allotment, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Friday started the process for e-auctioning 22 plots at Jaydev Vihar and Chandrasekharpur in the city. The actual auction for these plots will happen between 11 am and 5 pm on November 15.

The most sought-after areas in the state capital have 10 and 12 plots respectively and the size varies from 1,750 square feet to 5,400 square feet, while offset prices as per size and locality is between Rs 61 lakh and Rs 1.29 crore. It may be noted here that all the plots, belonging to the General Administration Department, would go for auction only after the former transfers the plots to BDA formally.

As per the document uploaded on BDA’s website, the offline selling of brochure started at 11 am today and registration with all due procedures will continue up to 11.59 pm till November 6. After scrutiny as per the laid norms, the plots will be e-auctioned on November 15.

This will be second such event with the first-ever e-auction of property in the state having conducted by BDA on August 22 last year BDA.

An official of BDA from the allotment section said, “After buying the brochure offline or taking the online route, an aspirant has to get a Unique Authentication Number (UAN) following Digital Signature Certificate and other requirements. There will be participation fees of Rs 2,000 for the applicant to be included in the race. After that the applicants would be required to deposit the earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 5 lakh each for single plot. But once the details of the applicant’s are checked then he/she would be able to try the luck in the auction process. However, one intending for multiple plots, need to deposit money for each registration and EMD.”

To make the process hassle free, the development authority has also uploaded a bidder’s manual on their website. They can also talk to the allotment officials and experts from the IT firm looking after the e-auction process. However, all the transactions would be safe as the auctioneers will always use their code names and no real names would come up during the bidding process.
