Bhubaneswar: In a bid to make Bhubaneswar a well-planned, environmentally sustainable and people-friendly city, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) plans to encourage engaging interaction among architects, city planners and residents, said BDA vice-chairman Prem Chandra Chaudhary.
Speaking at the 38th Foundation Day of the BDA here on Tuesday, Chaudhary said, “BDA is the leading agency to ensure proper planning in the city to help the city grow in a planned and self-sustainable way. Besides, BDA has been more people-friendly in its approach to address various complaints and grievances of public through a participatory method.”
Listing out major projects undertaken by BDA, Chaudhary said the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP)-2040 is ready. Similarly, affordable housing, online building plan approval system, revamp of road networks and town planning schemes have been introduced with a focus on housing for all.
Besides, BDA has acted as the implementing agency for Bhubaneswar Land Use Intelligence System (BLUIS), organised ‘Park Utsav’ at several prominent city parks, played an active role in the state government’s ambitious Ekamra Kshetra Amenities & Monuments Revival Action (EKAMRA) project.
Chaudhary unveiled the BDA Annual Report -2020 and felicitated four children of BDA employees who have secured more than 90 per cent marks in Class X examination.
The function, which was organised adhering to COVID-19 protocols, was attended by BDA Secretary Harish Chandra Nayak, Planning Member Gouri Shankar Bhuyan, Chief Engineer-cum-Engineering Member Rajendra Nayak and Allotment Officer Sabyasachi Hota among others.
