Jajpur: Panic gripped Jajpur Road after two wild bear strayed into human habitation from a nearby forest area on Friday.
According to available information, locals spotted the animals on Dala bypass and raised an alarm. As soon as the news spread, residents ran helter-skelter and informed the forest officials and police.
“The animals are suspected to have entered into the human settlement in search of food. In a bid to protect themselves, the animals hid themselves in the bushes at an isolated place. However, efforts are on to capture them,” a forest official informed.
Traps have been laid to catch the bear and then release them into the natural habitat.
