Cool summer drinks and beverages are a good way to beat the heat. So, here are some affordable places around KIIT Road in Bhubaneswar that you must try.
Chai Corner: This place, situated on KIIT Road, Patia, beside Aryapalli, is a must-try. It opens at 7.30 in the morning and closes at 11 at night. From 5 pm to 9 pm, it’s packed with students. The place serves hot beverages such as tandoor tea, liquor tea, herbal tea, milk tea, cool drinks such as shakes, mojitos and mocktails, a variety of cold coffees, flavourful lassis, and fresh fruit serbats. Prices are reasonable, ranging from Rs 15 to Rs 100. Items worth trying are ginger tea, cold coffee, Oreo shake, herbal drinks, blue mojito, tandoor tea and chicken grilled sandwich.
Cafe Odisha: It serves basic milk tea as well as flavoured mocktails, mojitos, fresh juices, ice-creams, coffee and quick bites such as chicken popcorn, chicken fingers, French fries, Maggi, pasta, burger, Omelette etc. It’s situated beside Chandini fast food and opposite Falcon Residency. It’s open from 8 am to 11 pm. It’s popular with students as the prices are pocket-friendly, ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 95.
Jay Jagannath Juice Centre and Fresh Fruit: It was established around 2012-13. It is open from 7 am to 10.30 pm. The place serves all kinds of cool drinks, from shakes and fresh fruit juices to mojitos, cold coffee and nimbu paani. Prices range from Rs 35 to Rs 80. Oreo shake, Kit-kat shake, chocolate shake, blue lagoon, virgin mojito, watermelon juice, orange juice, mango juice and mixed fruit juice are quite popular.
Chai Bar: This is the most popular among all, especially with students. Their specialty is they serve orders very fast. You can choose from a wide variety of drinks and beverages. A variety of tea with/without milk, flavoured milk, coffee, ice tea, milkshakes, mocktails and summer specials such as nimbu paani, sikanji, kala khatta, jaljeera paani, pudina paani etc. Prices range from Rs 15 to Rs 85. Elaichi tea, ginger tea, tandoor tea, lemon tea, cold coffee, ginger honey lemon tea, dark fantasy shake, Oreo shake, blue lagoon and watermelon mojito are popular.
