Bhubaneswar: After the Assembly elections, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the first time called a meeting of the newly elected MLAs from the ruling BJD at his residence Naveen Niwas on Wednesday.
BJD insiders said Naveen will meet the legislators at 9.30 am. In the wake of the arrest of the Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher for unruly behaviour, the BJD supremo will give tips to the new MLAs about their behaviour and manners while dealing with the people in their constituencies as well as in the State Assembly, the sources added.
Apart from this, Naveen will also have a meeting with the senior party MLAs at 10.30 am and brief them to strengthen the party organisation ahead of the civic body and cooperative polls in the state.
At 12.30 pm, the BJD president will meet the ministers and the MLAs who are in charge of the ensuing poll for the Patkura Assembly seat and tell them to intensity the poll campaign as the the Election Commission of India (ECI) is going to announce the date very soon.
