BeMC Starts Free Oxygen Service For COVID Patients, A First In Odisha

Berhampur: The Berhampur Municipal Commission (BeMC) has started free supply of oxygen through online to patients who face post-COVID complications.

The BeMC is providing oxygen concentrators to patients who are in quarantine also, through online platform. Berhampur has 25 oxygen concentrators, and four persons have placed orders till date.

BeMC Commissioner Siddheswar Baliram Bonder said the home delivery service is the first of its kind in Odisha.

The chief of RRT team Dr Arun Kumar Praharaj said if anyone’s oxygen level comes down to 90 per cent, the patient is required to put on oxygen concentrator. He added that each concentrator contains has a quantity of 10 litres.

Rashmirakha Panigrahi, who is entrusted with the responsibility of supplying oxygen to needy patients, said the RRT team is always kept ready at BeMC.
