Bengaluru: The wife and in-laws of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who died by suicide last month, were on Saturday granted bail by the city’s civil court.
The 34-year-old software engineer’s wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania had been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 108 (abetment of suicide) on the basis of a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother.
Atul, who was found dead in his Bengaluru apartment on December 9, left behind a 24-page suicide note in which the techie alleged that he was being harassed by his estranged wife and her family over legal cases for ‘dowry harassment’ and other charges.
Atul had also recorded a 90-minute video in which spoke in detail about his alleged harassment.
Atul’s wife was arrested from Gurugram on December 14, while Nikita’s mother and brother were nabbed from Prayagraj.
They had approached the session court for bail in the case.
Earlier, they had appealed to the Karnataka High Court to direct the session court to dispose of their bail plea.
