BEO Suspended Over Chicken Curry Lunch At Odisha School

Sundargarh: Relishing chicken curry at a school in Sundargarh district has landed Block Education Officer (BEO) Binay Prakash Soy in a soup.

He has now been suspended. His fault: He had the chicken curry alongside students, who were served only rice and dal during the midday meal.

The BEO had visited Tileimal Primary School on October 3 at around 1 pm and had midday meal with the headmaster and the student. However, he ate food items brought from outside. The matter came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

“He is hereby put under suspension with immediate effect pending finalization of disciplinary proceedings for such gross misconduct, dereliction of duties and inappropriate behaviour during delivery of public service,” an order from the office of the district collector said.
