Berhampur: The body of an employee of Berhampur University was recovered from a roadside drain on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Philomeno Sabar, a resident of Gumma in Gajapati district.
Sabar was working as assistant registrar in the university. His body was spotted by some locals who alerted the police about it.
According to sources, he had been missing from his house since the last four days following which a complaint was lodged by his family members at Bhanja Vihar police station.
The body has been seized and sent for autopsy by the cops.
However, locals suspect that he has been murdered and the body later dumped in the drain.
