Mumbai: A month after her separation, Hansika Motwani opened up about the challenging phase, saying she is now in a better place even as she chose to keep details of her divorce private.
The actor, who parted ways with Sohael Khaturiya, was granted a divorce by mutual consent on March 11 by a family court in Mumbai’s Bandra.
While the split drew considerable public attention, Hansika has maintained that she prefers not to share further details about the separation.
“People wanted clickbait, they got it. They wanted headlines; they got them. I have never clarified it, nor will I, because it doesn’t matter to me. It’s fine. I have no regrets. It’s better to get off the train if you got onto the wrong train than suffer,” she shared in an interview with Hauterrfly.
Hansika added that she feels content with her decision and is now in a better
emotional space.
Speaking about support system, Hansika shared that her family stood firmly by her during one of the most challenging phases of her life.
She revealed that her mother and brother supported her unconditionally, encouraging her to prioritise her comfort and well-being, especially as they witnessed her go through an unusually difficult period, something that contrasted with her otherwise cheerful personality.
Reiterating her decision to keep the matter private, Hansika said the reasons behind the separation are known only to her and Sohael, adding that some things are best left between those involved.
Following the divorce, she also took a trip to Japan with her mother and brother.
Hansika and Sohael had tied the knot in a grand ceremony at Mundota Fort and Palace in December 2022, with their wedding later documented in the 2023 Disney+ Hotstar show ‘Hansika’s Love Shaadi Drama’.
On the work front, Hansika was last seen in the 2024 film ‘Guardian’, directed by Sabari and Guru Saravanan, which also featured Suresh Chandra Menon and Sriman in key roles and received mixed reviews.
She also appeared as a judge on the Telugu dance show ‘Dhee Celebrity Special 2’ and will next be seen in the upcoming Telugu film ‘Nasha’.
