Jajpur: District Collector Ranjan Kumar Das on Monday said that one of the persons, who tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhadrak, had boarded a van from Kolkata with six others from Jajpur district.
“The seven had left Burrabazar near Howrah station at 9 pm on March 29 in Maruti Omni van. They had halted at a place and the person from Bhadrak had de-boarded the vehicle at Neulia Chhak at 6.30 am on March 30,” he said.
The collector said the Bhadrak patient had overheard them discussing that they would get down at Jajpur’s Sathipur Chhak. “It is suspected that the six persons belong to nearby villages. I urge people of Jajpur to inform the administration about anyone, who works at Burrabazar, and might have come back to the district on March 30 after 6.30 am,” he said.
To check the spread of novel coronavirus, it is important to quarantine them and get their swab samples tested, he added.
