New Building Complex, More Beds For Bhadrak Hosp: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: To improve healthcare facilities in Bhadrak district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced construction of a new seven-storey building complex for district headquarters hospital (DHH) in the town.

It will be a 300-bed hospital, a CMO press release said.

The building from which the DHH currently functions has 191 beds. To accommodate more patients and facilitate their treatment in the hospital, the number of beds will be increased to 300, it said.

The decision was taken on the basis of the feedback of the patients and the hospital authorities received by the ‘Mo Sarkar’ team, which recently toured the district.

This apart, a rest shed will be constructed for the attendants of the patients at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. There will be more counters for OPD registration. A parking areas will also be developed within the DHH premises for the convenience of the patients and their attendants.

For the welfare of the patients, Naveen has decided to release Rs 15 lakh from the CMO relief fund, it added.
