Mumbai: Manoj Bajpayee, one of Bollywood’s most versatile and loved actors, is set for a coveted ‘century’.
‘Bhaiyya Ji’, the 54-year-old actor’s 100th film in his three-decade career in the film industry, is ready for release on May 24.
The makers of ‘Bhaiyya Ji’, by the team which made his previous film ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’, dropped the teaser on Wednesday.
Set in 2014 in Bihar’s Sitamandi, the teaser shows a group of man in awe of a man lying injured and unconscious. A man asks everyone to kill him, but people dread the idea. Bhaiyya Ji, the name of Bajpayee’s character, then opens his eyes and people disperse in fear.

“Bhaiyya Ji had to be a character that audiences cannot easily forget especially since ‘Bhaiyya Ji’ marks my 100th film in the industry, and I am happy that I got to do it with my ‘Bandaa’ team. We have enjoyed every bit of making the character and film and we are sure the audiences will enjoy every second of the drama that’s soon going to unravel,” said Bajpayee, who played dacoit Man Singh in his debut film ‘Bandit Queen’ in 1994.
A revenge drama, ‘Bhaiyya Ji’, is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali, Samiksha Oswal, Shael Oswal, Shabana Raza Bajpayee and Vikram Khakhar.
“Working with Manoj Sir and Vinod Ji on ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai’ was an enriching experience. What more can I ask for if I get to do another passionate project with them? ‘Bhaiyya Ji’ is Manoj sir’s and my dream project and Manoj Sir has truly poured his heart and soul into the film, and I hope audiences will love watching the film,” remarked Karki.
