Bharat Bandh Hits Normal Life In Bhubaneswar; Know The Timings

Bhubaneswar: The Bharat Bandh call by the farmer organisations in protest against the new agriculture reform bill by the Centre, disrupted normal life in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The Left party activists staged rail roko at the city railway station and staged a road blockade at the Master Canteen Square.

Vehicular traffic came to a grinding halt due to the road blockade at the Jayadev Vihar Square by burning tyres on the road. Several buses and trucks were seen stranded on both sides of the National Highway-16 over the flyover.

Several passengers were also seen stranded at the bus stand in Baramunda.

Apart from this, the protesters picketed on the road at Hansapal on the outskirts of the city and did not allow the plying of vehicles.

All banks, government offices and business and trading establishments along the Janpath and busy thoroughfares remained closed.

While the nationwide shutdown will remain in force from 11 AM to 3 PM, several Opposition parties in Odisha including the Congress, the state units of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Samajwadi Party (SP), SUCI and the All India Forward Block (AIFB) have decided to observe the bandh from 6 am to 6 pm.
