Bharat Bandh: Schools In 20 Odisha Districts To Remain Closed Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Acting on the directive of the School and Mass Education and the Higher Education departments, the collectors of 20 out of 30 districts in Odisha on Tuesday announced the closure of schools on Wednesday. Besides, the closure of all educational institutions in three of the 20 districts was also announced.

While all schools will remain closed in the districts of Balasore, Puri, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Sambalpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Balangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Angul and Gajapati, all educational institutions in Puri, Gajapati and Khurda districts will remain closed on Wednesday.

In view of the two-day nationwide strike called by central trade unions from Tuesday, the state government on Monday announced the closure of all schools, colleges and universities.

The state government, in a notification, had said that it will take a decision on Tuesday on the closure of the educational institutions on Wednesday. It had directed the School and Mass Education and the Higher Education departments to direct the district collectors to take a decision after taking stock of the effect of the bandh in their respective district
