Kendrapara: Come January 31, Bhitarkanika National Park will play host to the three-day Bhitarkanika Mahotsav (festival) to attract tourists to Odisha’s prime ecotourism destination.
Organised by the state government, the festival will be held at Nalitapatia on the Rajnagar-Bhitarkanika main road in Kendrapara district.
Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the festival which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The state tourism department has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh and Odisha Mining Corporation has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh to organise the Mahotsav.
According to reports, Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma, Rajnagar MLA Dhruba Sahoo and Rajnagar DFO Bikash Ranjan Dash are supervising plans to draw more tourists to the festival.
