Kendrapada: Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapada district reopened for visitors after a gap of three months on Thursday.
The park had been closed since May 1 following the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19.
The Forest Department had decided to reopen the national park after the government issued unlock guidelines for August.
However, the park will be open for tourists only the day time and night halts will be prohibited.
After thermal screening, the visitors will enter into the park. They can visit the park, following all the COVID guidelines, said sources.
Earlier on August 3, the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar had reopened for visitors in line with COVID guidelines.
Considering the prevailing pandemic situation, a limited number of tourists will be allowed to enter the zoo every day after they undergo thermal screening at the entrance, informed Zoo Director Manoj Mohapatra.
