Bhubaneswar: Bringing joy among the denizens of the city, Bhubaneswar has emerged as the only city in India to have made it to the top 20 list of Best Performing Smart Cities globally.
The global ranking was conducted by market researcher Juniper Research between July and September 2017 on the parameters of mobility, healthcare, public safety and productivity in order to examine the benefits of smart cities initiatives for the residents in 20 cities.
Following the study, Juniper found that Singapore has been ranked top performer in the global smart city ranking, leaving behind other major cities like London, New York, Seoul and San Francisco.
The research sponsored by global technology player Intel, also revealed that smart cities have the potential to save individuals about 125 hours each year, sources said.
