Bhubaneswar: The SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) in Bhubaneswar has added another feather to its cap with Joint Commission International (JCI) Prime certification.
According to a hospital release, SUMUM chief executive officer Dr Swetapadma Dash received the certificate on the successful completion of the programme organised on its campus supported by leading medical technology company Becton, Dickinson and Co (BD) and achievement of 98.4 per cent compliance rate.
Consultants, nursing team members, pharmacy team members, heads of departments, and representatives from BD, including , Medical Affairs Leader-India and South Asia Pankaj Raina, were present.
SUMUM is the first hospital in Odisha to receive the certification, the release claimed.
It further stated that the JCI Prime programme was initiated in the hospital in 2022, with the infection control department, nursing team, pharmacy team, in-patient services team, and quality management system working collectively under the guidance and constant support of the top management.
This was followed by an academic session on the topics of ‘Invasive Fungal Infection in ICU’ and ‘Infection Control Care Bundle’, which were addressed by senior consultants in critical care medicine, Anand Mishra and Arun Rath.
