Bhubaneswar-Bound Bus Rams Into Truck; One Dead, Over 20 Injured

Jajour: One person died and two were critically injured after a Bhubaneswar-bound bus rammed a truck near Jaraka Chhak on NH 16 in Odisha’s Jajpur district in the early hours of Monday.

According to sources, the accident took place when the bus, carrying 50 passengers and en route to Bhubaneswar from Baripada, crashed into the fertilizer-laden trucked parked along the road around 3 am. The helper of the bus died on the spot. The critically injured persons have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, while 20 others, who sustained minor injuries in the mishap, were provided first aid at Dharmasala community health centre.

Some passengers were rescued by breaking the glass of the bus.

Meanwhile, Dharmasahla police have seized both the vehicles and initiated an investigation.
