Jharsuguda: A flight, bound for state capital Bhubaneswar, made an emergency landing at the Veer Surendra Sai Airport here after experiencing problems with its landing gear soon after takeoff.
It’s unclear which airline was operating the flight.
The plane had arrived in Jharsuguda from Kolkata. After deboarding and boarding of fresh passengers, the plane took off for Bhubaneswar at 1.20 pm.
But soon after taking off, it experienced problems, with the crew realising that the landing gear had not retracted properly. It’s unclear whether the problem was with the nose gear or one of the main landing gears.
The crew decided to return to Jharsuguda and make an emergency landing. Later in the evening, the plane left for Kolkata after the problem was fixed by engineers.
The incident affected flight services to Raipur also.
