Bhubaneswar: While the Odisha government has announced lockdown in the capital city till July 31 as COVID-19 cases have risen sharply, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to conduct about 2,000 tests a day during the time.

BMC officials said that 1,400 tests are conducted in a day, which will soon be increased by 50 to 60 per cent. Samples will be collected mainly from slum areas, enclaves and organisations. Most of them are expected to be rapid tests.
