Bhubaneswar Continues To Sizzle At 39.4°C Before Noon; Heatwave Alert For Khurda & 4 Other Districts

Bhubaneswar: A day after witnessing an almost 11°C rise in temperature in flat six hours, Bhubaneswar continued to sizzle on Monday with the maximum temperature being recorded at 39.4°C by 11.30 am.

The daytime temperature in the city had been crossing 40°C before noon for the last two days. The city had recorded 43.3°C on Sunday, the third-highest temperature in the month of April since 2011.

Jharsuguda: 38.8°C
Gopalpur: 30.8°C
Sambalpur: 38.8°C
Paradip: 32.2°C
Puri: 32.4°C
Chandbali: 37.2°C
Keonjhar: 38.0°C
Hirakud: 39.0°C

Heatwave is likely to prevail in Khurda, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir during the next few hours and in Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir and Myurbhanj districts on Tuesday.

The MeT office has cautioned people to take precautionary measures while venturing out of the house between 11 am and 3 pm.
