Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader of Odisha Jayanarayan Mishra has been granted by a Bhubaneswar court in the murder case of a BJD worker in Bargarh district.

Mishra, who is also the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly, and 11 others accused in the murder case of BJD worker Dileswar Sahu appeared before the Bhubaneswar special ADJ court on Friday. The court granted them bail on the same conditions as set by the lower court.

As per the court’s conditions, Mishra will have to inform it if he goes out of the state. He is not allowed to get involved in case directly or indirectly and must not attempt to tamper or destroy the evidence.

Earlier, the case was transferred from JMFC court, Sohela in Bargarh district to the Bhubaneswar special ADJ court. Mishra had been granted bail by the Sohela court also.

Notably, Dileswar, who was working as a driver of the then Minister Sushant Singh’s brother, had died in a firing incident that had taken place at Sohela on February 22, 2018, just two days before the Bijepur bypoll.

Mishra and 11 others had been arrested by the police following a complaint against them in connection the murder. The Bhubaneswar special ADJ court had issued notices to all 12 accused to appear before it on March 17.
