Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning of rain, thunderstorm and lightning for 16 districts of Odisha by 11 pm on Friday. Warning has also been issued for state capital Bhubaneswar and the millennium city of Cuttack.
Issuing yellow alert, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said light to moderate rain, thunderstorm with lightning likely to affect parts of the districts of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Sundargarh within nxt three hours.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
