Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll touched 428 in Odisha on Tuesday with nine more patients succumbing to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
The new fatalities have reported from seven districts with two each from Sundargarh and Ganjam and one each from Balasore, Balangir, Cuttack, Khurda and Gajapati.
The Health Department has identified the deceased as:
1. A 55-year-old male of Balasore district.
2.A 55-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
3. A 70-year-old male of Balangir district who was also suffering from diabetes.
4.A 39-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
5.A 56-year-old male of Gajapati district.
6.A 73-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
7.A 68-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
8.A 65-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
9. A 51-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from hypertension.
With these nine new casualties, the virus has so far claimed 181 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 55 in Khurda, 29 in Sundargarh, 26 in Cuttack, 22 in Rayagada, 18 in Gajapati, 12 in Nayagarh, 10 in Puri, nine each in Sambalpur and Balasore, six in Kandhamal and Bhadrak, five each in Bargarh and Keonjhar, four each in Jajpur, Balangir, Malkangiri and Angul, three each in Koraput, and Kendrapada, two each in Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur and Kalahandi and one each in Jharsuguda, and Nabarangpur.
