Bhubaneswar DCP Asked To Provide Data On CM Naveen Patnaik’s Security

Bhubaneswar: Chief Information Commissioner (CIC), Odisha, Jalada Kumar Tripathy has sought data from Bhubaneswar DCP on police personnel engaged in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s security at his residence here.

The commission issued this order while hearing a petition filed by Pradeep Pradhan, who wanted to know the details under the RTI Act, in 2018.

Notably, the DCP office had earlier denied him information saying it would jeopardise the CM’s security and could also be accessed by the Maoists. Following this, Pradhan moved the CIC, arguing that the information has nothing to do with the strategic security arrangement and therefore, the CM’s security would not be compromised.
