Bhubaneswar: A stray dog, whose head was stuck in a plastic jar, was freed by a rescue team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on Monday.
The stray was spotted by one Debaprasad Mahakud who tweeted about it requesting for help to free the dog. BMC swung into action, reached Satya Nagar where the dog was roaming and removed the jar from its head. “We thank Mahakud for bringing it to our notice,” tweeted BMC.
The dog breathed freely and is out of distress now, said the BMC team.
The BMC has a dedicated toll free number 1800 345 7458 for rescuing stray animals in distress conditions.
We are thankful to the citizens for showing their love towards stray animals and it is really encouraging, said BMC Commissioner Sanjay Singh.
