Bhubaneswar: A few officials of the Excise Department were sent on home quarantine after an arrested liquor mafia tested positive for COVID-19.
According to sources, a 55-year-old man was arrested from Bharatpur, on the outskirts of the city, for allegedly selling liquor illegally.
The accused, identified as Gobinda Nayak, tested positive for the virus during the medical test before being forwarded to the court.
The officials have been directed to remain in home isolation and contact tracing is underway, the sources added.
