Bhubaneswar: In view of the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled to be held at Kalinga Stadium here from November 28 to December 16, smart city Bhubaneswar will be made completely Wi-Fi enabled, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena on Friday.
Attending a function on Local Self Governance Day, the Mayor said, “We have decided to give the smart city a new look before commencement of the grand sporting event not only by making it fully Wi-Fi enabled, but also adding 100 more city buses to facilitate better local communication in the Odisha capital.”
Jena further said that plans are afoot to paint walls along 80-km stretch in and around the city for beautification purpose. The walls will showcase the rich and unique art, culture and history of Odisha. Besides, drainage and waterlogging issues will also be resolved before the event, he added.
