Bhubaneswar, Ganjam Report Two Deaths Each, COVID-19 Toll Rises To 456

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 456 on Friday with eight more patients succumbing to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

The new fatalities have reported from Bhubaneswar (2) and Ganjam (2), Bhadrak (1), Bargarh(1), Balangir (1) and Rayagada (1).

The Health Department has identified the deceased as:

  1. A 61-year-old female of Bargarh district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  2. A 62-year-old male of Bhadrak district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  3. A 65-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from hypertension.
  4. A 56-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
  5. A 40-year-old male of Balangir district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  6. A 55-year-old female of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension.
  7. A 45-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  8. A 60-year-old male of Rayagada district.

With these seven new casualties, the virus has so far claimed 185 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 59 in Khurda, 33 in Sundargarh, 28 in Cuttack, 22 in Rayagada, 18 in Gajapati, 14 in Sambalpur, 12 in Nayagarh, 11 in Puri, nine in Balasore, eight each in and Bhadrak and Bargarh, seven in Kandhamal, six in Keonjhar, five in Balangir, four each in Jajpur, Malkangiri and Angul, three each in Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada, two each in Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur and Kalahandi and one each in Jharsuguda, and Nabarangpur.
