Bhubaneswar: Class IX student Sharanya Nanda from Bhubaneswar and Class VIII boy Chinmaya Choudhury from Jharsuguda would watch the moon landing of Chandrayaan-2 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7.
Sharanya is studying in Chandrasekharpur DAV Public School in Bhubaneswar. School Principal Keshab Chandra Satpathy and other teachers congratulated Sharanya for her achievement.
Chinmaya is a student of DAV Public School in Jharsuguda. He belongs to Bandhbahal area of the district.
“I am very happy as I got the opportunity to watch the landing of the moon with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I can also interact with the scientists there and gain some knowledge about it. I got this opportunity by qualifying in an exam through internet. My aim is to be a robotic engineer in future. My parents and teachers have supported me a lot,” said Chinmaya.
Chinmaya and Sharanya are among 60 students selected from across the country for the unique opportunity after they won the space quiz.
The students will get to watch the lunar landing from the Indian Space Research Organisation headquarters in Bengaluru.
