Bhubaneswar: IndiGo’s direct flight service between Bhubaneswar and Guwahati will resume from New Year 2023, according to the official website of the airline.
There has been a demand for resumption of the direct flight, which was discontinued during the COVID lockdown in March 2000.
Flight 6E 6971 will depart from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 2.45 pm and will reach Guwahati at 4.20 pm. Similarly, IndiGo 6574 would take off at 4.50 pm from Guwahati and will land at Bhubaneswar airport at 6.45 pm.
The service will be available on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from January 1, 2023.
Also, Air Asia India will be operating two direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Delhi from October 30. It will ramp up the flight frequencies between Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru from 2 to 3 as well on the same day, sources said.
Notably, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi in 2021 had requested Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia to permit direct flights between Bhubaneswar – Jammu and Bhubaneswar – Guwahati.
