Bhubaneswar: The state capital, Bhubaneswar, continued to be the hottest place in Odisha for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded maximum day temperature of 35 degree Celsius and 36.4 degree Celsius, respectively.
Bhubaneswar had recorded 37 degree Celsius, the previous day.
The weather agency further said that hot and humid conditions may continue to prevail during the day time in some parts of coastal Odisha till Thursday.
Rain thereafter may slight bring down the mercury levels. The day temperature in state capital may drop to 30 due to thunderstorm/ lightning and light rain.
However, there will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 4-5 days, it added.
