Bhubaneswar: Local boy Kabir Hans had to settle for the runners-up trophy at the M25 Bhubaneswar ITF World Tennis Tour 2024 meet.
Kabir and his fellow-Indian Rishab Agarwal played their hearts out in the doubles final but went down 4-6, 3-6 to top seeds Egor Agafonov and Bogdan Bobrov at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Centre here on Saturday.
In the singles semifinals, played in the morning, the lone surviving Indian Aryan Shah lost 0-6, 4-6 to top-seeded Czech Dalibor Svrcina, while American Nick Chappell overcame Bobrov 6-2, 6-3.
Bobrov later made amends by clinching the doubles title.
The singles final will be played on Sunday morning.
