Down 2-5 and 30-40 in the first set of the quarterfinal against Tanussh Ghildyal, the Odisha boy scripted an extraordinary turnaround to bag five straight games and the opening set.
The second set was a breeze as Sahoo won 7-5, 6-1.
Odisha girls Aahan and Sohini Sanjay Mohanty, however, bowed out of the U-18 girls’ singles quarterfinals.
Ahana lost 4-6, 4-6 to Laxmisri Dandu, while Sohini was beaten 2-6, 2-6 to Saumya Ronde.
