Bhubaneswar J30 ITF Juniors Meet: Odisha’s Debasis & Sohini Finish Runner-up

Bhubaneswar: Odisha players Debasis Sahoo and Sohini Sanjay Mohanty had to be content with runner-up prizes as the J30 Bhubaneswar ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors meet ended at Kalinga Stadium’s Tennis Centre here on Friday.

U-18 boys’ top seed Debasis lost to fellow-Indian Praneel Sharma 4-6, 5-7 in the boys’ final.

Sohini and her partner Aakruti Sonkusare Narayan Sonkusare won the opening set against Laxmisiri Dandu and Priyanka Rana before going down 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 3-10 to the Indo-American combination.

American Rana clinched the girls’ U-18 title defeating India’s routing India’s Prisha Nikhil Shinde 6-3, 6-0 in the final.

The boys’ doubles crown was lifted by Ojas Mehlawat and Adhiraj Thakur, who defeated fellow-Indians Rohith Hari Balaji Gobina Gobinath and Thirumurugan Viswanathan 6-3, 6-2.
