Bhubaneswar: The Indian men’s and women’s teams have moved up the ladder in the latest FIH World Rankings.
Thanks to their impressive performances in the FIH Pro League matches played in Bhubaneswar, the men have moved up to No. 3 and the women to No. 7 in the world.
The Indian men were in imperious form in the matches played at Kalinga Stadium, between February 26 and April 19.
Captained by Odisha’s Amit Rohidas, India beat Germany (twice), England, Argentina and Spain to be on top of the standings with 27 points from 12 matches.

The men will be playing their next set of matches against Belgium and The Netherlands in those countries in June.
The women’s team, including Odisha’s Deep Grace Ekka, Rashmita Minz, Namita Toppo and Mariana Kujur – is also leading the table currently with 22 points from 8 matches.
They will also be travelling to Belgium and The Netherlands next month to play Belgium, Argentina and the USA.
