Bhubaneswar: The twin cities of Odisha – Bhubaneswar and Cuttack – recorded a slight drop in the minimum temperature on Monday with the mercury dropping to 12.6°C each from 13.2°C and 13°C respectively, the previous day.

Amid the prevailing dry weather conditions, 11 places in the state saw the minimum temperature plummet below 10°C in the last 24 hours. G Uda

yagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal district, was the coldest at 5°C, followed by Darigbadi and Phulbani, also in Kandhamal, at 6°C each and Koraput at 6.8°C, which was a drop of 6.3°C from normal.

Similarly, Semiliguda in Koraput recorded 7.4°C, Chipilima in Bargarh (8.8°C), Nabarangpur (9°C), Bhawanipatna (9.2°C), Angul (9.6°C), Boudh (9.7°C) and Jharsuguda (9.8°C).

Dense Fog occurred at one or two places in Sundargarh district and shallow to moderate fog in districts of Kalahandi, Koraput and Jharsuguda.

According to the weather agency, the state is unlikely to witness any large change in the minimum temperature during the next 6-7 days. The mercury in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack is likely to hover around 12°C during the next five days, it added.
