Cuttack: In the wake of the much-talked-about gang rape of a minor girl in the Infocity area of Bhubaneswar, the Additional Director General (ADG), Crime Branch Soumendra Priyadarshi appeared before the Orissa High Court through video conferencing on Wednesday.
Giving details of the status of investigation into the case, the ADG told the court that the Crime Branch that has arrested four persons is on the hunt for the remaining accused. As the investigation is underway to nab the remaining accused, he prayed the court to allow some time to furnish a detailed status report.
Asked about the policeman and his two associates against whom the mother of the victim has lodged a complaint, petitioner’s counsel Gopal Jena said as the Crime Branch has arrested four persons two days ago and is interrogating them, it sought the permission of the court to give some more time.
“The court said it will have the next hearing in January, the exact date is yet to be fixed,” Jena added.
