Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Nayayan Jena has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
Jena, who is also the former mayor of Bhubaneswar, informed this in a tweet on Thursday morning. He, however, added that his condition is stable.
With Jena, eight leaders of the ruling BJD, including a minister, have been infected with the virus so far.
The others include Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) Chairperson and BJD General Secretary Srimayee Mishra, Odisha Small Industries Corporation Chairperson Chinmoy Kumar Sahoo, Rural Development, Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Minister Susanta Singh, Khandapada MLA and Editor of ‘Sambad’ Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Polasara MLA Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar Parida and Salepur MLA Prasant Behera.
